Why do they insist on learning the hard way??
We have a bin at the side of our sink which Mark will occassionally stand on. Everytime he does I tell him to get off before he falls and hurts himself.
Last night I was doing college work before a friend come round, OH was clearing his phone and Mark and George were playing upstairs with next doors DS.
I don't mind that, they play really well together and rarely any mess or noise.
Mark come downstairs telling OH through hfloods of tears he'd fallen but he was crying that much he couldn't understand him. I iwas at the dining room table, turned round and saw blood running down the back of his head.
The silly silly SILLY boy had only climbed on the bin again but this time fallen (like I kept telling him) and hit his head on the radiator.
There's a bump and a cut and a smaller cut with no bump the other side. The cuts not deep and after I cleaned it he stopped crying straight away and he was ver yok in himself so decided against the walk in centre to get tit checked (you can wait for longer than A&E in there sometimes) I iwill be calling in the Dr's this morning to get it checked by the nurse, just to be safe even though it seems to be fine this morning. Better to be safe.
Bloody boys, never listen do they
He is a big brave soldier though and didn't flinch when I cleaned it.

Re: Why do they insist on learning the hard way??
Oh poor Mark
hope he's ok now. FWIW Lucy is the same, never listens to a word i say, we haven't got doors in our house, well not many anyway if that makes any sense, especially downstairs and whenever we go to my Mums/Nans/Sisters or MIL & FIL's or whatever she's constantly slamming doors shut with her fingers right in the hinges, i've lost track of the amount of times i've told her not to do it and just KNOW that one say soon i'll end up in A&E trying to get the tips of her fingers sewn back on
She's the same with climbing and jumping, i've been letting her climb in and out of the carseat so i don't have to lift her but instead of climbing steadily i open the door and she's already unstrapped herself and just hurls herself out of the car
it wouldn't be so bad but our car is high so if she jumps directly out of the seat she's falling a good 3.4 ft before she hits the floor outside
and she's doing the same in the highchair, i take the tray off for her to climb out and she'll stand on the footrest and leap about 3ft across the room and land flat on her face

Re: Why do they insist on learning the hard way??
TBH if you think he's OK I prob wouldn't go to the centre. I had a similar incident with C when he was about 2, I phoned NHS direct for advice and they said as long as it had stopped bleeding, the swelling wasn't too bad and the gash wasn't big enough to need stitches, then just to keep an eye on him etc ...
your call of course, its just I know how annoying it is waiting in these places when you kind-of know they are just going to say he is fine. big hugs to you though, its really upsetting whrn they hurt themselves, isn't it.
(my wee guy fell of the settee and caught his head on the corner of the coffee table. ouch!)
you could try some arnica cream for the bruising too

Adam is just the same. And tbh I think he must have a high pain threshold, as even if he DOES hit something, he rarely seems bothered
to go to first goal

Re: Why do they insist on learning the hard way??
I took him to the walk in centre then walked straight back out again. It opens at 9, we got here at 0915 and it twas heaving.
After asking on reception about waiting time then being told it was 1.5-2 hours I didn't have that long.
He was fine last night, didn't blackout/be sick etc and it fine this morning. Dropped him off at school, his teacher will keep an eye on him
