April Mums - Reassurance please
OK, I think I'm being needlessly paranoid here. We spent a couple of hours at soft play with our NCT group this afternoon and Liam seems to be slowly dropping behind everyone. So, what stage are your babies at? Liam can sit on his own (although he hasn't been doing it long and isn't safe to be left on a hard surface), competently roll from front to back and tentatively from back to front. He's showing no inclination to crawl and although he likes standing up he's incredibly wobbly, today was the first time I could hold him up by his arms rather than round his body and it didn't last long before his knees buckled. On the plus side he has 4 teeth plus a couple more imminent and he can eat for England
Now I know all babies develop at different rates and the HV isn't at all concerned but that's hard to remember when your friends' babies are crawling round you so just wondering where everyone else is.

Re: April Mums - Reassurance please
OK, I'm not an April mum, but I can remember when my DD did things. She didn't sit competently till around 9 months, She crawled at the same time. However, when it came to walking, she was at least 14 months old although she could stand and pull herself up at around 12 months.
It is hard not to compare but please try not to worry, he sounds perfectly fine

yep, crawling. 2 are competently crawling and pulling up to standing, 1 is more or less fingertip walking (she was 8 months yesterday)

There must be something in the water round your way!
Or, is there something in mine?

Re: April Mums - Reassurance please
Replied on your other post, but here it is.
Sounds perfectly normal to me.
R is crawling, but only he and one other from my NCT group are.
Out of our group (eight babies). Two can only just sit up unaided and two are crawling and the rest are at various in between stages, so a big variation.
One of the Mums is a bit worried as her little girl has no teeth and no inclination to move at all (but she is and always has been the best sleeper - 7pm-8am since about 6 weeks - I know I'd rather that then having to chase R round the room all day!).
One of the babies in my sister's NCT group has only just started crawling now at 11 months, it varies so so much.
It is hard not to compare your LO to others though, I know.

I agree with Lucypede, he sounds fine to me
M hates it when i put her on her front to see if she wants to crawl. She sometimes makes it onto her knees when she's reaching for a toy and we've had a bit of hip movement but no crawling
As you said yourself, it can be disconcerting when you're comparing your babies to others, try not to worry, i'm sure he's absolutely fine.

He sounds fine to me chick......
Toby can crawl but it's not a proper crawl - more a commando shuffle.
Euwyn only started crawling about 2 weeks before he started walking.......
(crawling isn't an official developmental milestone - not all babies do it.....)
I know it's hard not to compare babies but try not to stress yourself out about it - they all do things in their own time

Re: April Mums - Reassurance please
Thanks Everyone.
As I said, I know babies all develop differently so I'm not too worried, I think I'm just in a fast group IYSWIM My Mum said I didn't crawl long before I walked so maybe Liam will do the same.
He had his JoJingles Christmas session this morning and he's currently completely flaked out in his cot, still dressed as Santa

Holly can sit up, i still put cushions around her, but she is pretty good. Roll from back to front one way. No crawling. No standing.
Mia I think crawled about 8 - 9 months, more like 9 I guess.

I've never actually seen a baby crawl before 9 months at least! Although I know some do
None if the babies in Lucy's/Penny's circle crawled that early. He sounds absolutely spot on to me!
