My nan has lung cancer
My poor old nan has been in hospital for a couple of weeks, she had heart probs last year an a bypass earlier this year but has been feeling very ill and nauseous for a few weeks now so has been re-admitted. Turns out she has a huge tumour on one lung
OK, yep, she smoked for 60+ years but still, she thought her lungs were clear (she had an xray last year and it was fine).
My Mum and Dad are coming to stay tomorrow and will fill me in then. I am more worried about my Mum (Nan is HER Mum) and hope I can be a comfort to her.
I feel so helpless - last year when Nan was ill I could go and see her every other day as I lived down the road, but since we moved, we are 3 hrs away. The docs don't know whether the tumour is a) slow growing and has been missed previously or b) aggressive... Does anyone know what treatment she may be offered (I think chemo would kill her off to be honest, she is rather frail)?
I am so not in a good place right now for all this but I want to be supportive for my Mum.. please wish me luck

I don't know what kind of treatment she'll be offered but I can ask Mr G when he gets home tomorrow if you like?

Re: My nan has lung cancer
Theyd offer her chemo if she was well enough buy not if shes frail. They may be able to operate to remove all or part of the tumour. I do hope she gets better hun
