    Scale insect on indoor plants?

    I was looking at my beautiful phaleonopsis (sp) the other day and noticed it was covered in scale .

    I cut off all the infected bits which were in flower or in bud and binned them.

    I cant' remember how to treat scale, can anyone help?

    My MIL treats scale with alcohol. Don't know if it works though.

    But how do you get the orchid to drink the booze? Or do you drink it yourself
