Would you let your daughter have the cervical cancer vaccine?
I have heard a few bad things about it.

Re: Would you let your daughter have the cervical cancer vaccine?
Well of course I will, why wouldn't you want your child to avoid cancer?

Re: Would you let your daughter have the cervical cancer vaccine?
I would as long as I have looked into it and made sure I am happy with the implications. I have let them have all the other vaccinations available and would think that this would be no different.
....she would have been nice looking if she hadn't been wearing a look that suggested there was a nasty smell under her nose..........

Re: Would you let your daughter have the cervical cancer vaccine?
Yes I would, certainly, and if I had a son I would want him to have it too (you can do this privately) so he doesn't endanger his partner. What bad things have you heard? It has only been available for a short time. The only bad things I have heard about it are in the sort of paper that thinks death is a satisfactory outcome from sex for women.

Re: Would you let your daughter have the cervical cancer vaccine?
Based on the current information about it, of course I would.
If there were some risks or bad effects from it to surface in years to come then I'd possibly re-think but as it stands, absolutely
What have you heard?I have heard a few bad things about it.

Re: Would you let your daughter have the cervical cancer vaccine?
Absolutely. As someone who has had a pre-cancerous lesion on my cervix (thankfully caught in time), I'd do anything I could to help my daughters avoid this.

Re: Would you let your daughter have the cervical cancer vaccine?
OH was involved with a company that makes this vaccine and before they launched it they knew that from Day 1 the Daily Mail would be banging on about "underage sex", "female promiscuity", etc etc

I somehow doubt they'd be banging on so much if there was a vaccine against testicular cancer

I honest to God don't understand the connection between this vaccine and underage sex!

Precisely. Imagine a world without Anne Atkins, it'd be a veritable moral cesspit

Me neither. I doubt there are that many girls out there who take cervical cancer into account before having sex

This sort of thing drives me around the bend. I only see this vaccine as a good thing (a shame I'm too old to have it really!) and I don't think any underage girl ever thought (pre-vaccine) "I'd better not have sex just in case I put myself at risk of cervical cancer." If they're going to have sex underage, they're going to do it.

Remember when you were 11 and had your rubella jab? Did you not think "ooh, goody, now I must rush out and get pregnant"? Me neither, funny that

Exactly. And I bet you anything women who have had cervical cancer are not enjoying the implication that they were 'promiscuous' one little bit
