Do cats have a 6th sense?

Today, one of ours cats will not leave me alone. Normally she's quite content to sit around in the porch and watch the world go by, but will also sometimes sit with me while I'm in front of the TV.

Today she's following me everywhere. If I'm upstairs, she's upstairs.. she sat & waited in the bathroom when I showered.. and now she's sat on the computer desk watching me type..

Whaddya think? Do cats have a 6th sense about birth?

I think all animals have a sixth sense (I think they have to) Especially cats

That's a point actually.. the younger of our 2 cats seems to like standing on my bump at the moment to be smoothed.. and last week at some point I was curled on my side on the sofa and she sat down on the side of my bump and made herself comfortable.

Funny thing is that she's not really much of a lap cat. She'll sit next to you, but rarely ON you. Maybe it's nice and warm at the moment!!!

Yes but be careful when the baby is born, that she doesn't lay over the baby.

You'd think if she had a sixth sense that you were about to pop she'd be getting out of the way

    I think they do.

I was round my friends the other week and her cat has never paid anyone any attention but when I sat down it jumped on my lap.
My mate said she only ever jumped up at me when I was pregnant.
Think my face told her I was.

So the cat let the cat out of the bag!!!

I think they do Aside from pregnancy, my cats always get clingy and follow us around when we're about to go away for whatever reason and have someone else to come in and look after them. Total change from the indifference they normally display

Cats probably sit on pregnant bellies because they're nice and warm

Definitely - my male cat gets soppy, and my female cat (who isn't a lap cat) has curled up on me the last few nights to fall asleep.

And, they went nowhere near Lily when she was born, and still don't! So, no worries about this new bubba either...
