Prams/buggies/travel systems - HELP!
After my 20 week scan I want to start looking at some means of transport for my little one when it's born. WHere on earth do I start? Initially I liked the all singing all dancing travel systems but have now realised they all weigh a tonne. I was originally thinking I'd be limited by having a small boot but new car on the cards so that's not a prob. So I'm looking for
- Light to get in and out of car
- Good reviews/reputations
- Ideally lay flat/pram for baby
- Can be used a pushchair when baby is older
- Nice if it included a car seat with isofix but not essential
- Ideally under £300 but open to ideas
Any suggestions?
Any recommendations or ones to avoid?
What do you have?
TIA!!!

Re: Prams/buggies/travel systems - HELP!
I have the bugaboo cameleon and absolutely LOVE it, but there's no getting round the fact that it was alot of ££.
I think if I were in your sitch, I'd go for the Bugaboo Bee and a good sling for when the babba is teeny tiny
I do think it's worth spending a decent amount on a pushchair and taking your time over choosing it etc, as it's the one thing you'll probably use daily, it needs to be comfy for your LO AND for you. Also it's all very well wheeling an empty one round in a shop whilst pg, but I think if I were to have my time again, I'd have waited to choose AFTER my baby was born, all you need when your baby is new is a carseat and a sling.

Re: Prams/buggies/travel systems - HELP!
What's the difference between the bugaboo chameleon and the bee and the gecko - there are so many types I'm confused?? Have to say I have looked at reviews/piccies of bugs and it's tempting but it is lots of £££s! Eek! Thanks, Chickpea?
Has anyone any cheaper recommendations.....

Re: Prams/buggies/travel systems - HELP!
I have a maclaren Techno XT and I love it. It has three positions, one of which is flat for babies and comes with a head support. It is compact, folds easily (even with the rain hood, footmuff etc on) and fits is the boot no bother. Has great storage underneath and god steering. I have had absolutely no problems, whereas everyone I know with a travel system has complained about how big it is and how its a faff to assemble etc.
Mine cost £130 and I got a car seat seperately so it was a fairly cheap option as well

Re: Prams/buggies/travel systems - HELP!
What kind of journeys/things will you be doing with the pushchair? Do you see yourself going out all day with it, or just lots of smaller trips?
What about your house- will you take the pushchair inside? Are there steps or narrow spaces, and where do you envisage storing your pushchair?
I know they seem like dunce question but these situations might help narrow a choice down.
Been busy
and got the start of a big clear out on ebay. Please take a look - it's like an Aladdin's cave!
