Plants for winter pots? - Help!

I want something for the front doorstep. I had a marguerite (daisy) there in the summer followed by geraniums but they are all but dead now.

What can I put out there that will look good all winter? I'm thinking like a shrub thing I guess.....

    Lovely thanks Seagull...

I'll have to get DH to drive me in his taxi as my car is still being assessed for damage! I hate going out in it as everyone tries to get in when you pull over!
