My editor has resigned
And I'm gutted!
AS some of you may know my deputy editor died last year and now my editor has announced he is stepping down as of May.
I'm really upset (which is bizarre as he is a bollix most of the time). But I feel like the mammy and daddy of my work are gone and it really is an end of an era.
Also shitting myself that a new boss will discover how truly shit I am at my job!
Having a really down day.Mum, writer, occasional nutcase.

Lola, I don't imagine for one minute you're rubbish at your job, I've read your blog :)
I guess they were/are your family, at work, so it makes sense to feel weird about it. I'm one of those ones who doesn't like change even if sometimes, what I've got isn't good.
Putting my positive hat one for once, would this create job opportunities you could take advantage of?

I guess its the prospect of change isnt it? A new editor could come in and turn things on their head, but change isnt always bad.

Only just seen this. Sorry you're feeling yuck, but it's understandable. An editor isn't just a "boss", are they?
Also, the obvious step for a journo isn't always to become an editor. Unless you want a load of shite the whole time.
You get writing lassy, you can do it! Only 40,000 or so words to go!!

I can't see how the new editor can fail to think you are fabby!
