How do you have the time to cook all this????
I'm making a big effort with home cooked meals but it's a spag bol, cottage pie or chops and mash these daysMum, writer, occasional nutcase.

Re: Whats cooking w/c 10th September...
I absolutely love to cook so I make time. On the 3 days I work I do stuff that takes no longer than 30 mins to prepare and save more complicated things for other days. The kids love to help too and eat exactly what we eat so I guess cooking and eating are a big thing in our house. Everything above probably sounds much more posh/complex than it actually is and its only by doing my menus a week in advance that it works.

Agree with that - apart from staples like chili con carne, spag bol etc, all our dinners come from magazines and sound much fancier than they are! I plan a week ahead and after I've put Betty to bed I chop and dice and marinade or whatever that night's dinner requires, then when Mr Noddy's put Henry to bed he comes down and makes the dinner.

Tomorrow : Curried chicken and cashew rice
Monday : Toad in the hole
Tuesday : Chorizo risotto
Wednesday : Pizza and salad
Thursday : Breaded plaice and homemade oven chips

We're having this too, except I just got regular haddock instead of smoked as I'm not keen on smoked. Going to have it with a feta, pea & mint salad from Bill Granger's book 'Everyday'.
