Pregnancy yoga
I've got my first class tonight and I was just wondering what to expect? Has anyone been before?

Re: Pregnancy yoga
There seems to be a huge waiting list Muso so I'd get yourself on it now. I originally wanted to start classes in early August but have had to wait until now.

Re: Pregnancy yoga
The one I went to focused on breathing techniques to help relax you and cope with pain and also just some gentle stretching.
Was also a chance to meet people, we all sat round in a circle every week and talked about our highs and lows etc.
Have fun!

Re: Pregnancy yoga
I did this throughout my pregnancy and it was lovely. I really looked forward to it every week

We used to start by giving our name and how many weeks we were and anything that had happened that week - ie scans, onset of SPD, feeling kicks etc. Then we did breathing techniques, visualistion and an hour of gentle stretches.
At the end we all laid down and listened to 15 mins of relaxation music. Then woke up to herbal tea and biscuits.
Oooooh makes me want to be pregnant again just so I can go!!

Re: Pregnancy yoga
Yep I did it with my both my pregnancies and I loved it (though the fact that I used to finish work early helped
)
I would really recommend it

Re: Pregnancy yoga
I went to a class during my last pregnancy and it was brill.
It was pretty much like Twistarella described. Everyone says who they are and when they are due then lots of postures and stretchy exercises, some done in pairs. Some general chat about pregnancy and birth related topics. A candle was lit, some relaxing music went on and the instructor went off and brought back some herbal tea or squash and some of her fab home-baking.
She did also have a couple of people come in to give talks after the class but asked us first if we'd be interested and there was no obilgation to stay. One was about cloth nappies and the other about reflexology and aromatherapy (talk given by a midwife who also does alternative therapies).
Hope you enjoy your class.

Re: Pregnancy yoga
I went too and loved it! My experience sounds like Twisterella's but without the tea at the end. I was actually thinking of looking into mother and baby yoga they do.

Right I'm convinced that too much STUFF...
Anyone for a 'Trying to be tidier' support group?
