      Are Flour Beetles Harmful?

When I say harmful, I obviously know that they aren't going to kill you but do they give you an upset tummy ...etc?

We were making "packet Mix" shortbread at my Nan's this afternoon. Now I didn't realise until I put the flour back in Nan's cupboard - AFTER BAKING AND EATING A BISCUIT that it had flour beetles in it.

It turned my stomach, now I don't know if it is just my imagination but my stomach feeling funny like as if it's a bit upset. I have encountered flour beetles before but usually before I cook with it .... I can't believe I didn't notice.

Am I just being dramatic or could it be linked?

      ....who, me, never!!!!

Erm, if they've been thoroughly cooked I wouldn't have thought they'd be harmful, but what do I know? Maybe it's just the *thought* of eating them that's making you feel a bit

My Nan calls them Weevils but I have always known them as flour beetles - I think that they are the same thing.

She-ra, they are tiny little crawly beetle things that live in flour. You mostly find them in out of date flour or if your flour has gotten warm (feel free to correct my anyone if I am talking rubbish).

      Ewwww!

I don't think they'd harm you, no, but I'd be binning all that stuff.

You get them when stuff is in packets in the cupboard (hense part of the reason for my Tupperware obsession as it keeps dry goods safe from yuckies like that).

      YUCK!
