    er..... uh-oh

Haha! Had you fooled (did I? )

Actually this is about *potential* broodiness rather than a BFP. Laura is getting on in years (you can see the fine lines if you look closely enough ) and I had always wanted her to have a similarly aged sis or bro (we live quite rurally). Also, I had wanted to be in secure employment first so that this time, I would get maternity benefit and a job to come back to. Finally, I didn't want us to TTC until I had got to my ideal weight - pretty much made it.

Well it looks like I am going to get a permanent contract, and this seems to be making me strangely broody. Even if I did have my permanent contract when would be the right time anyway? I would always be letting someone down as I work on research projects.

Is it possible to suddenly get broody when everything practical is in place?

Is there ever a 'right time' to get pregnant? I'm sure almost every mum on here could have come up with reasons why it was not the ideal time for them to have a baby. If we waited for that the human race would probably die out!

I think you'll know when you really 'want' to get pregnant (which is a different thing). Imagine testing next month and it coming up -ive, how would that make you feel?

ps. Yes, you DID have me fooled!

    pps. Your picture of Laura!

TBH you've worked really hard for your new job and worried so much about not getting it, that if I were you I'd give it a wee while.

I'm going the other way though - I want number 2 soon so that I can look for a new job after that.

aw thanks (about the Laura pic). I think I would sigh and be sad. When I am in full on obsession mode I would be in tears for an hour or so (when I was TTC with Laura). I'd rather TTC BEFORE I got to that stage actually, as it's not fun. It took a year with Laura and I was like a woman possessed - don't really want to go there again (and of course, have no idea how long it would take a second time)

Do you think you have been subconsciously waiting for everything to be in place before "allowing" yourself to feel this way?

Oh I should have said that it's only for 8 months (this particular research contract). So I wouldn't even have HAD a baby before the end of it. But I think we would need to give it much more thought than this (Laura would need to at least be 3 so we could have cheaper nursery bills) and could we really afford 2 sets of bills even then.......

That is a strong possibility. I know how emotionally attached I was to having a baby before, and upset all the time because I couldn't get pg. I have probably been trying to avoid feeling sad because I want to TTC but can't, IYSWIM.

Aah, us too. We're only on month three of ttc number 2, but each month it gets closer to some of T's nursery being paid.

My job bores me so much I should just look for another one, but keep thinking I might get pg this month ...
