Aaargh! Childcare nightmare! NAR, just huggy smileys
Helena's Nanny is leaving us - we had to make her redundant because with me off work we couldn't afford to pay someone that qualified. But we still need someone because one pair of hands with my children isn't really an option.
So the Nanny leaves Thursday and we're still looking for a Mother's Help.
DH has fecked off to India, and though he gets back Friday, he's going away for the weekend with some mates & I don't see him till Monday. So I've got the pair of them on my own from Friday and no end in sight.
The most annoying thing is that there is one agency who pretty much have the Special Needs market stitched up. They've come up with just one candidate and she can't interview till Friday. If she's no good, we're stuffed. They're trying to find me a temp. I'm waiting to hear back from Lexie's nursery to see if they can take her full-time for a bit.CHASE children's hospice and Disability Challengers

Oh crikey - I can't imagine how hard it is.
If I was closer then maybe I could have been an extra pair of hands.

Red.
I know you said NAR but I wondered ifyou had considered contacting local colleges who run nursery nursing courses (sp
), as I have heard that they sometimes send students to families who have extra needs, twins etc. They may not be qualified to help much with Helena but could take care of Lexie for you.Just a thought.

Red - sorry I can't offer any constructive advice but I have the kids all day Saturday on my own too. Did you want to get together and therefore have an extra pair of (albeit unqualified) hands about??? Perhaps P can offer some distraction for H???

If it wasn't perhaps illegal to be blotto in charge of munchkins, I'd suggest hitting the bottle
Chocolate on the other hand MAY help ease the pain a tad?????????
Have everything crossed that things go ok on Friday and this girlie is wonderful.

It'll turn out OK somehow or other. It's just at the moment I can't quite see how!
