Large Kitchen Electrical Appliances
Following on from my washing machine thread please post about your large electrical appliances eg what make model and if you would recommend them.
As you can probably tell we're having a totally new kitchen and everything new to go in it and I would like to buy things that people recommend rather than just by the look of them.
Many Thanks

Re: Large Kitchen Electrical Appliances
We have a Miele washing machine and its fab. Its was quite pricey but apparently they are designed to last for 20 years and it came with a 10 year warranty. We haven't had it long but so far haven't had any problems and have been very impressed with it.
Miele do dishwashers too which are supposed to be very good as well. We don't have a dishwasher. My sister has just bought an Indesit dishwasher and isn't that impressed with it.
We have a Lec fridge freezer which is very good too. We only went for that make as my uncle works for them and so we got it very cheap directly through hime. I think we got it for about £100 when they were over £400 in the shops. We've had it about 3 years now and its very good.

Re: Large Kitchen Electrical Appliances
I have a Samsung American Fridge Freezer bought early 2005. I got Samsung after liking a Samsung one at a holiday villa we rented. It's lovely although I may have to replace it when my new kitchen goes in for a black one (it's silver). The only thing is that as it is plumbed in for the ice/water dispensers we have to buy a new filter for it every 6 months at a cost of £40 each time. The fridge was £699 (from memory) which is quite reasonable for what it is.
I have a John Lewis dishwasher which is a complete waste of time (January 2005). I got it because it came with a 3 year guarantee as standard but it's just not up to the job. Again I'll be replacing that when I get my kitchen done...probably with an integrated one.
My dishwasher in my last place was a Hotpoint and aside from a couple of minor repairs it has been going strong for 9 years. It was a cheapy one £199 back then and I would go for a Hotpoint again.
I just got a Hoover washing machine. I got this one last week because I was sick of the one that came with my house (again I may be replacing it when it get my kitchen done). I don't know which model but it take an 8kg load and had a 1400 spin. So far it seems fab! I got it cos it was on offer at Comet (£299).
My best washing machine is the one up at my other place it is an LG washer dryer. It takes an 8kg load and has squillions of programmes and digital display with the countdown of how many minutes left..which is brill. I was £700 for it 3 years ago...I wish I'd taken it with me and put a cheapy one in for renting my old place out.

Since I was last here I had a beautiful wedding in May 2009 and then gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl in May 2010. Very happy indeed.
