Kane's exciting arrival into the world
It started at 5am on the 22nd and pfaffed me around all day with pretend contractions and/or practise ones.
Whilst Dylan and DH lay sleeping soundly the contractions were strong and every 5 minutes. But then both the men in my life woke up and the contractions peetered out.
DH stayed at home just in case and spent the day playing with Dylan.
Dylan went for his afternoon sleep and again the contractions were every 5 minutes. But again he woke up and then they stopped.
I was getting mightly pee'd off and was worried that I would have to go to the hospital for an induction at this rate.
So come Dylan's bedtime and the contractions got stronger and more regular I found it hard to believe.
By 9pm we could call the mw and she came out 30 minutes later.
Oh she said well done you are 1 cm
ONE CENIMETER said I frigging woopdeedoo.
So she said we had to call her at 4 am and she would come and look again.
I had so hoped that it would all be over by then
foolish girl.
So DH had a wee doze as I fought with contractions of every 3 minutes. It was quiet in the housem Dylan was in his own bed and there was a storm outside.
At 5am the mw was back to check again.
Well done damsel she said you are now 4 CM.
Again I cried WHAT NO WAY FOUR CENTIMETERS IN SIX HOURS!!!!
I told DH I was going to die and that he had to make sure that he told the kids nice things about me.
So the contractions were getiing worse and there was no rest inbetween. In the meantime my parents were calling from Ireland freaking out and very worried.
At 7 am I said to DH that I needed to push and that he needed to call the mw again as I was getting scared and didn't know what to do. Dylan being born via suction had made me really nervous.
Within 10 minutes the mw was there and was having a nosey at me when she said....Oh yes your are fully dialated push when you feel the urge.
No way I said I can't do it the baby is going to get stuck. She said just let your body do what it needs to and it will be fine I am here for you.
Then i here Mama Mama. Dylan has just woke up oh no bad timing or what
So DH calls the neighbours and the hubby said he would first take a shower and then come get Dylan but 2 seconds later the doorbell went and it was him sent with a flee in his ear by the wife to get Dylan.
DH made it back into the room in time and sat on the bed when the mw shouts Keep going I see the head.
I look down and sure enough I see the top of a wee head and then to more gently pushes later and Kane was laying on my belly.
His hello to me was to pee and poo on me but no worse than i had already done on the poor mw
So i went from 4cm and being shattered to 10cm and a baby on my belly in THREE HOURS.
And I have to say the pain in the end was bareable and anyone who has given birth with the help of suction does not need to worry for the second birth at all.
I stayed at home had no pain relief at all and gave birth in my own bed. i got one stitch and 45 minutes after Kane arrived into the world I was in my own shower chatting away to DH.
It was one of the most positive experiences of my life and I am blissfully happy with my new wee boy
