chicken pox- how quickly do spots come out?
I noticed a red spot on L's belly yesterday morning and was half expecting him to wake up covered in spots this today, but nope nada. Just the one little spot, albeit a rather poxy looking one.
Anyway, this evening when he had his bath I noticed another, so a grand total of 2 spots over more than 24 hours. How quickly do cp spots come out? I thought they came out quicker than this. Does it sound like chicken pox?
We're meant to be going to Florida next week and if it's chicken pox we won't be going anywhere

Re: chicken pox- how quickly do spots come out?
I *think* ella's came out over about 3 days - she only had about 10 in total - and none on her face at all.
Sophia's started last Friday night and were all out by Sun/Mon and are pretty well scabbed over now - ie not infectious.
I feel like the pox expert just now!
With Ella I didn't even notice they were coming and she could have travelled in a few days tbh = they scabbed quickly - it may or may not be the pox - if it is hope for you it is over by Florida - when are you meant to be going?? It could still be ok???

It took a few days for an influx with us but more came for about a week in total. They all vary though.

Re: chicken pox- how quickly do spots come out?
We are in the middle of a pox infestation and my boys only had a few on day one and they just kept coming after that. Poor things are both pickled with them although in different places - DS1 mainly on face and body and DS2 mainly on head, neck and genitals (ouch!)
In my medical book it says they come out over a period of 3 days which is pretty much how it has been for us with day 3 being the worst ie looking really bad and feeling really bad and itchy. They are already starting to scab over now so hoping we are on the downhill straight now and we are on day 5 of having it.
They are infectious for 4 days before the spots and until they scab over.
If it is the pox and you are going in over 5 days from now he shouldn't be infectious by then so you should be ok.

Thanks for your replies. I'm going to be on spot watch for the next 24 hours, although I'm pretty convinced that it is the pox.
We're meant to be flying on Wednesday, so by the sounds of it there is a chance that they may have scabbed over by then
I guess we'll have to just wait and see.
Hope Sophia is recovering ok Az and your boys Gizamojo.
