Have you changed your team to match OH???
I was brought up at a Man Utd fan like my dad. I joined in more than anything just to fit in with him and my brothers so I could do things with them.......
For a few years (prob about 95-98 ) we went to Old Trafford loads..........
Anyhoo - then when dad left I didnt have much of an interest in football.
Now, since I have been with OH I have got back into it. He is an ex-pro and a massive Arsenal fan, but will watch any football going. Tomorrow I will be going to my second away game with him in the Arsenal end....(we went in Dec to Sheff Utd) -
I now find that I would much prefer to watch Arsenal and see them win......eeek! My dad will kill me if I tell him
Has anyone else changed their teams?Loukes
x
Since I was last here I had a beautiful wedding in May 2009 and then gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl in May 2010. Very happy indeed.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO !!
I have been born & bread to a team, which isnt the same as my DH , and I will NEVER EVER change.. I Wouldnt even consider it, it would be a complete betrayal to my team
(Eta , I guess it depends how strongly you feel about "your" team, I am a die hard footie fan, and for me, switching teams is like adultery
)
I got a bottle of Jack Daniels tonight for my Husband... bloody good trade if you ask me

Re: Have you changed your team to match OH???
I didn't have a team or even the slightest interest in football before I met my OH.
He has little by little turned me into an Arsenal fan now. I always thought the whole thing was a bit silly but now I find myself actually caring if we win or lose and really enjoying going to the games
(although I'm not as dedicated as you and only go to home games and only then because we live around the corner). It's also something nice we can do together as a couple.
My friends and family always laugh at me as they can't believe I've turned into a football fan.

Oh honey, dont feel bad
I am probably not the best person to comment, as I am footie mad. But football matches imo are a bit like music gigs, sometimes its being there, and the atmosphere, that makes it fab rather than who is playing... so can understand your point of view... but for me switching teams just isnt something I would do. Each to their own. If you enjoy the game, then thats all that matters honey!!!
Now I just have to contend with DH trying to persuade Lulah to support his team when she is old enough
I WILL WIN !!!!!

No way! DH and I have a Mancunian mixed marriage (I'm Utd and he's City

). We can't afford to go now so the tickets have had to go and now that we have E we just don't have the time for it we used to but there will be no team shifting in this house

Just don't ask who E will support - we've had to put a blanket ban on club football as far as she is concerned

Re: Have you changed your team to match OH???
I agreed long ago that he would be able to raise our kids as Arsenal supporters!!!!
My colleague is Leeds fan, her husband is Man U. When she was expecting the deal was if it was a boy he would follow dad's team, and vice versa for a girl.......much to my colleagues dismay her son is now a Man U supporter!!!!
Not sure how many more tickets we'll be able to afford once we move. I am so hoping I get to go to Emirates this season though.
