This house is seriously getting me down!

When I bought this house I should have just set up a lifelong Direct Debit to a black hole. Everything keeps on breaking or needs replacing every 5 minutes. The bathroom lightbulbs only last about 2 weeks before they blow, tripping the rest of the lights as they go so we have to stumble around to find a ladder in the dark to reach the consumer unit. Wind whistles round every crack in the place making a 'wooooooooo' noise worthy of a haunted house and there is a cupboard in the kitchen that really got it in for me. I only have to open it a tiny bit to find the whole contents are teetering ready to fall out on my feet. There is a hole in the floorboard under the carpet by my bed which we can't get to because the built in wardrobe is built on top of the carpet and I fall into it every single night even though I know it's there.

Yes, I hate my house. But what has really got me mad is I went to get the post from the front today and someone has torn off my letterbox flap. It's not even there anymore so whoever did it didn't even give me the chance to fix it!
My DH doesn't 'do' DIY so it's all up to me and tbh I think why should I bloody bother

I wish I was still renting

Oh hun.................I don't know what to say except try not to let it get you down... but I know thats not easy when you live somewhere your totally not happy with!

I'm going to have to fix it or the rain will be coming in.

I was looking at properties online last night

Though this place is in such a state I don't think anyone would want to buy it, but I don't care about it enough to do anything.

Did you get a new letterbox AG? My house gets me down sometimes too - its not that bad but its just not how I'd like it, lots of little things that need changed. We moved in 3 1/2 years ago and all we've done is change the side garden from lawn (& rubble!) to a driveway for DH's car though we can't call it a driveway as its too near a corner apparantly and the LA refused permission for us to drop the kerb to get in & out :roll: The only other things we've done is re-decorate and fit some kitchen units in the utility room as there was nothing in there before.

My DH is another that doesn't 'do' DIY and everything is left to me. My Dad helps out when he can though he has his own house to see to as well as a full time job.
