    Sympathy Cards?

Would you / do you make these?

I've never - would always buy one - I don't really know why but I feel a bit funny about making them Perhaps something to do with feeling uncomfortable showing off my cardmaking whilst someone is grieving

I think you can also look at it the other way round, especially if you knew the person well.

The person receiving it might feel that you made it specially for them and that you had taken time to create something more personal.

Yes, I think it shows more care than just going to a shop and buying one (no offence to people who do)

I made one and the feed back I got from it was that they were actually more touched that I'd made the effort to make one especially for them, rather than going out and buying one

I see what you mean, Noo Noo. But I think the recipient would be pleased at the trouble you'd gone to, rather than think you were trying to impress them IYSWIM.

there are two sides, but i think too that making shows a personal touch.
especially because i dont know about you, but i rarely find sympathy cards that aren't religious, and if the recipient isn't religious or churchgoing, then it seems a bit fake i think... at least you can taylor the card to the family if you make it.
