Mums of large families
Since there are now a few of you here I just wanted to ask a few nosey questions if you don't mind

As you might tell we are fans of the baby name thread here. Have you ever had difficulty naming your children? Just the thought of coming up with another name that will suit makes me
and I'm not even Katkinn
Also how big are your houses? (asked in a non materialistic and not financial way) I am trying to find a 4 bed house I like and they seem to be sadly lacking with most being 3 bed.
Is it easy to find somewhere nice to live?
Please indulge a nosey Damsel

Re: Mums of large families
Hello nosey Damsel lol. Firstly my house is four bedroomed, they are good sized rooms so we have three girls in two rooms, two boys in one and little un in with us. All hail the mighty bunk bed
Names are all part of the fun, want a list?
in order
Eleanor Wendy (Ellie)
Daisy Anne Elizabeth
Jack Donald Thomas
Philippa Frances
Harry Oscar
Tabitha Grace
Ruby Tallulah
Archie William Louis
Martha Romy
Lola Matilda Dixie.
As for finding somewhere nice to live, that wasnt the consideration when we were living with mil! I d have lived anywhere when we stumbled on this place in the paper within our budget. Wouldnt mind moving now though, I fancy somewhere remote.. with no neighbours for miles.......

Re: Mums of large families
Oh Lordy - how difficult was it finding a name for number 10! As we already had 6 boys and 3 girls, we were okay with another girl's name, but a boy's??? And as we always give ours a middle name as well, that meant finding 2....'twas a looong and weary session with the baby name book, I tell you.
AND we had the usual problem of initially loathing each other's choices (although I've no idea why, Horatio seemed a good fine strong name to me
), but eventually settled on a couple we liked.
Then we had to decide which came first...sigh...
The next one is going to be named after whatever the current number one in the charts is called (and just hope that Engelbert Humperdinck never makes a comeback.....)
As for houses - we-ell, we live in a three-bedroomed rabbit hutch, with just one loo, one reception, one conservatory, just one loo, small kitchen, front and middle hall, and have I mentioned just the one loo?
House prices are so ridiculous around here that we just cannot afford to buy larger (although there is no lack of large, executive style houses to be had for the odd million or so)...although with some clever planning and a lot of things that fold, stand on top of one another or just generally hide behind a big screen - we manage
And in fairness, I have only got 9 living at home now...

Seriously HOW do you come up with all the names?? (and how do you remember?
I sometimes get mine mixed up and I only have two of them

eta - I
the name Horatio but can't help thinking that it rhymes with fellatio so the poor wee lad may get a tad teased in the playground

Re: Mums of large families
Thankfully we have two loos so that means double the amount of loo roll and wet seats from easily distracted sons. I might be the only saddo that keeps a list of nice names I have come across for future reference, then again maybe not!
psst Horatio isnt a child btw

I'm being nosy too... but how did it all start? Did you always want a huge family or did it just happen? How old were you when you started, what gaps between them, how old are you now, are you going to have more, are they all with the same Daddy, are you married, does he stay home & help too or work, do you have a nanny to help... I am nosy!
Good lord I want a nanny or house keeper with just the 1 baby, if I had 10 I'd have to have about 6 permanent live in staff!!

Re: Mums of large families
Horatio can be many things! It may just happen to be the name of a character in CSI Miami played by a strawberry blond sex god, and possibly also the name of my car, but I really wanted it for Raff this time round!
