Losing hair
I know it is normal for a serious amount of hair to drop out a few months after the birth but was wondering when it stopped? I am losing clumps every day and my hair really feels noticeably thin now. Poor OH is sick of pulling it out of the drain in the shower.

Re: Losing hair
This has started happening to me now too
I haven't had it cut in a while, am thinking maybe a good hair cut could help as it's supposed to stimulate your hair folicles or something and help your hair to grow. I haven't had my hair cut since December
so may be worth a try? ?

Re: Losing hair
Mine fell out in clumps from about three months after the birth but I bottle fed so this was probably a bit earlier than breastfedeing mums. It took a while for it to stop and then I had new hair growth around my hairline that was really short and hard to control - I had a mini fringe with a life of its own until it caught up with the rest of my hair.
My hair got lovely and thick while I was pregnant and it was a bit of a shock to go back to fine hair that fell out.
You'll go back to normal after a while, but it is quite alarming to stand in the shower and se how much hair that has come out after a shampoo. It's all hormonal, but will settle down.

Re: Losing hair
I think for me it was about 3 months after the birth when I started losing it, and about 6/7 months after when it stopped. It's quite alarming isn't it?!! The worst thing was the amount of hair that used to cover the bed after I'd dried my hair!
I remember Incognito Smurf on HB saying that her bed was like Chewbacca.
I've got little short frizzy bits sticking out all over the place now.

Re: Losing hair
Joanna, I'm not sure how old you LO is, but my hair came out in clumps until chloe was about 6-7 months.
Maybe you could ask in boots or a health food shop and see if they can suggest any vitamin supplements to help xx

Re: Losing hair
Mine is still coming out now and Chloe is 7 months. It is stopping slowly though.
