Re: What are we all cooking this week??
Katkinn - have you tried my carrot cake recipe ? It's a massive quantity but could easily be halved or so.
It is really the best carrot cake I've ever made !

Re: What are we all cooking this week??
I agree - what do they put in it to give it such a vile taste? With one exception - I tried a Lidl one this summer, it looked really homemade so thought I'd give it a go and it was pretty nice! Ok, so nowhere near proper homemade lasgane but quite decent!

Re: What are we all cooking this week??
Shamu, could I have your recipe for spaghetti with garlicky king prawns please? I may have that on Saturday night

A bit late to this thread, but we had steak with pan-fried rosemary potatoes tonight. I am working twighlights tomorrow and Thursday, so will probably do some sort of casserole in my slow-cooker on those nights. Not sure about Friday, but am planning to do JO's slow-roasted lamb on Sunday.

Re: What are we all cooking this week??
skerry berry have you done that lamb before?
I keep looking at it and think that I'd like to do it, but I'm terrified of slow roasting things as I've done Nigella's slow roasted pork before and I managed to cook leather
shamu - looking forward to hearing how your chicken with red lentil sauce goes!
I'm just doing my shopping list now actually and I'm going to do another new dish as well - flipflop's chicken in parma ham with dolcelatte. Am going to do it with green beans and smashed new potatoes. Very much looking forward to it on Sunday!

Re: What are we all cooking this week??
So, do you all cook something different every week?
I'm so bored of the stuff we eat but I'm scared off by recipes that have loads of ingredients or look a bit fancy.
Generally I can make a decent job of it if it's made with minced beef and that's about it I imagine.

Re: What are we all cooking this week??
No Katkinn, but I have been wanting to try it for ages. My mum cooked it a few weeks ago, and it was gorgeous. My new cooker was delivered today, so I want to try it for myself (would never have trusted my old oven with this as the thermostat was temperamental).

You could add some lemon zest and parsley to the garlicky prawn mixture. It was v v nice and simple - James loved it and DH devoured it and asked for more!

Re: What are we all cooking this week??
We had a chicken with tomato and tarragon on pasta on monday and lasagne with salad last night.
DH has lasagne again tonight and tomorrow if he can manage it 3 days in a row as I'm out. Tonights meal is going to be Moroccan Chicken and tomorrow, who knows. Whatever the pub has to offer.
Friday is Sausage and Bean casserole thingy, which will hopefully last till saturday.
In laws for christmas lunch sunday.
I tell you this forum has really inspired me. Thanks ladies
Mrs B
