So I have a second interview...

For the 'not sure I want it' job.

Am going next Weds (13th). My main concersn were over level of bureaucracy/ red tape, the old-fashioned culture and what seemed to be a very negative attitude to the recent merger (which they called a takeover )

Can you guys help me ot come up with polite ways of addressing these concerns? So far I have:
How do you think staff in general are coping with the merger?
What are the future plans of the company?

I also want to know if they'd be up for a bit of flexible working without directly stating I have a 6 month old baby and want to go PT. Any ideas?!
no matter how far you have travelled down the wrong road, you can always turn around.

How do they address the work/life balance, or how do they see a responsible company's role in addressing the work/life balance?

Can you tell me about the culture of the company?

How do the two cultures of the two companies work together??? I joined a post-merger company and I have to say that I think I got a raw deal. The English half of the company and it's existing employees were treated FAR better than the European half AND the new employees. Think benefits etc - the new staff didnt get half the benefits of the English pre-merger company.

From my own PERSONAL point of view (and this isn't to say it WOULDN'T work for you) I would be really wary of joining a post-merger company just from my own experience.

Can't post much because connection is dodgy again but wanted to say congrats on getting another interview, even if you're not sure you want it!
