    Oct/Nov Mums 2004

    Helloooooooooooo

I've had a word with Damsella and she's happy for us to resurect this thread over 'here' (cheerz Damz ).

So, how the heck are we all doing? Lorna has turned into the cheekiest little madam around but it's highly amusing as well as being incredibly irritating at the same time

I gave her some juice at the weekend, some Robinson's diluting stuff that she passed to me from the cupboard. I only put enough in to give it a slight taste and handed it to her. She took a sip, shook her head, said NO! then toddled off to the cupboard and got the Robinson's back out and gave it to me, pointing and saying "more"

She had a Parents Evening at the nursery last week which was fine. Apparently the only issue is that she can't match up snap cards but the nursery supervisor said not to worry, it's a stupid category for such a young age. I got her snap cards out fo the drawer, well what's left of them. She reverted back to her old ways and immediately started to rip them up

What else, errrrr she's got her big pointy jaggy teeth coming through so that should make about 16 or 17 teeth now and just some back ones left to pop through at the top.

She's starting to fit into her 12-18 month clothes properly now, bout berluddy time And summer is on the way so I can't wait for her to wear the little summery dresses I've got for her

She's eating all of her food completely on her own now. We have the biggest hissy fits if we even dare hold her fork or spoon We get kisses and hugs on demand and her speach is coming on really well. Too well infact............... she called me a "dumpling" yesterday when I dropped my cup while pointing and laughing at me

Well, how are you and your LO's doing now? Have any of you had your's weighed and have you heard anything about a booster for the MMR???

    J.x

    (p.s. it's lovely to be back )

    Re: Oct/Nov Mums 2004

    Hello

Well Dylan is still not talking at all tho he did say something that sounded like book last night and today again. I wish he would hurry up tho as he is getting so frustrated with not being able to tell me what he wants.

He has a bad temper on him as well but I just let him get on with it unless its in a shop and then I pick him up and take him out of the place if I can.

Well my wee pip squeak is in his 12-18 months clothes but they are on the big side with turned up trousers etc but the 9-12 stuff si too small for him now FINALLY

I need to go and get him some summer shoes as its 24 degrees today and his shoes are too hot. Might do that tomorrow after I have been to the mw.

He is so affectionate at the moment as well and we get kisses and hugs when we ask for them. His party trick is understanding the question/request in both english and dutch.

Today the neighbours kids called at the back door for him as they wanted to play with him. THe little girl is 3 1/2 and the boy is 19 months so they had a great time playing in the sand in the garden.

Dylan is totally in love with the little girl and is always hugging her.

As of November he can go to the nursery school for one morning a week but I am not sure if I want to do that as he seems so young, i might cry if he goes

His walking is great tho it does mean he is not overly impressed with the buggy and DH always lets him walk everywhere whereas I am tring to keep him bound to the buggy on shopping trips to make it easier for me which I know is mean but I cannot control him and a baby in a pram when he doesn't want to cooperate.

i think thats all for now, oh tho Jane I know what you mean about the eating tho Dylan tries to feed us as well.

Just waiting now to see when the baby will arrive and getting more and more nervous everyday really.

Hope you are all about soon
    Andie

    Re: Oct/Nov Mums 2004

    Hiya

Xander is doing fantastically at the moment - he's soo cheeky, sweet and full of fun. I just wish we could finally say goodbye to all the hair pulling but I'm hoping it won't be long 'tis most painful. We are also starting to try and break his dependency on his dummy and that looks like it is going OK.

He has lots of words NNNOOOO! being a favourite. Frankly I can't be doing with any of this milestone stuff about what they should or shouldn't be able to do as it just feels like a wind-up really, designed to make us feel inadequate. I looked on babycentre and there is no correlation between each months milestones so pah! to it all.

we're on holiday next week which will be fantastic although we are going so near my dad that we will have to visit a lot which is a bit of a grind - he's a pain frankly

The one blot is that Pete needs to find yet another job/contract again - it feels like we are constantly doing this and I am desperate for him to get a permanent job as contracting is soo stressful.

I'm also as fat as a frog and can't be harsed to do anything about it which I know I'll regret as soon as it gets warm or we start TTCing - but I did just enjoy my cambozola sandwiches and tootie-frooties!

Andie, I can't believe you're about to become a mum of 2 I've not cracked the first one yet

Jane - I did have him weighed recently as he was weighed at hospital and then we saw the HV. He's around 26lbs which is fine for his age. We don't have the MMR booster for a while down here, although we've been advised to delay it anyway as he was so ill after the 1st one.

Glad this thread has been re-born

    Re: Oct/Nov Mums 2004

Great to have you both back on board ladies

I'm a bit disappointed atm. Just found a really luffly 3 bed semi for sale at a fixed price. Phoned Alan and told him that I wanted to drive around the area tonight to see if we like it and if we do that we can arrange to maybe see it tomorrow night. One of the girls in the office said I'd be as well to call and make sure it's still on the market............... the vendor is in negotiations with a buyer as we speak. I'm completely gutted I should have checked the website at the beginning of the week as I'd been watching that house for a couple of weeks but it was on an offers over basis and I can't be harsed with all of the haggling that's involved.

Oh well, if it's gone it's gone and it couldn't have been meant to be.

Girls how are the wedding preparations going??

That is so frustrating Jane, house buying is enough to make anyone go but if it meant to be yours, it will be. If nothing else, missing out on one you both like may kick Alan into gear about getting the flat finished and on the market pronto.

    Re: Oct/Nov Mums 2004

Oh it scares me to death the thought of being a 'mum of 2' I am not sure if I will ever get out of the house or have my hairbrushed again but at least it will be the summer and I can plonk us all in the garden and hope for the best.

Its getting really close now and I am a bit tired of being pg but then I think this may be my last time ever and it makes me feel a wee bit sad as I love my bump. Never having to hold it in after eating etc is just wonderful.

But its all getting a bit heavy and achey now and I wanna see what flavour we have gotten this time and what the little one will be like.

I figure its best to go into this motherhood malarky blinded by the rose tinted glasses holding your breath and hoping for the best

I am sure I will let you know soon enough how great or harrowing it really is.

Jane I am really sorry about the house I hope something else turns up soon for you. Can't be much fun having a toddler watching mummy and daddy playing grown up games
I hope Holly wasn't in the room as well.

How is your mum feeling now by the way?

Going to go and relax now and wait for the apprentice to come on. Who do you think will go tonight?

    Speak soon

    Re: Oct/Nov Mums 2004

    Hello,
thanks for restarting the thread Jane :)
I am still worried about the f-ing chicken pox (sorry can't stop swearing about it).
Emma is fab! I love her so much She is a little one, her trousers are all 6-9months, which is handy as I have packed her cropped trousers from last summer for this holiday (if we go!) top wise, it's 12-18 on account of he rbig belly but we roll her sleeves up. SHoes, her feet are still a 3!!!!
Speech wise, she isn't doing as well as some of the threads, BUT she understands everything and points so much stuff out to us, she spots things before we do - animals on signs etc. She has been eating this week for a change. She had praise at nursery last week, (usually we just get told how stubborn she is :o) but last week we were told how she always says "Ta", and is the politest one in the meenies room :yay:
Andie - i am so excited that you're meeting your new baby soon!
Jane - keep a look out for houses, you'll find the right one! Our mmr booster is I think at 4yrs just before they start school.
Babilicous - is thatyou starlight? (It's Miriam btw) Is your mum all well now? i hope so.
Spritzer - enjoy your holiday & TTC! & everything crossed for your OH finding a job/contract.

    Re: Oct/Nov Mums 2004

Morning girlies, I've just posted over in Rellies........ I can't be harsed trying with Alan anymore. I think I just need to get this holiday over with to make my mind up once and for all.

I do love him and I think he still loves me too but we just bicker about the most pettiest things and I feel as though life would just be so much calmer without him being there. Constantly under my feet, making a mess and taking me for granted.

I've tried sitting down to talk with him but he either doesn't take it seriously and starts making jokes or else it turns into an argument we me being left to feel like it's all my fault, in a puddle of my own tears. Sorry for going on, just feel like everything is so shit just now.

Lorna was as good as gold yesterday, put her to bed at 8pm though as I'd have to get her up at 6.30am today for work/nursery. I walked past the bedroom at 9pm and I could still here her talking away to herself! Then I heard the dummy getting thrown out of her cot and the usual incoherent babble "mmndnser jdieroes dfmsaf my dummy"

We were out with the larks and on the 07.20am train for me starting work at 8am. You know, I'm just so flaming tired and depressed. Every week for the past 6 weeks or so I've managed to have one day off each week with either phoning in sick or taking a day off. I'm sick of my job, sick of my OH and sick of my homelife. AND I'M SICK OF FECKING ALWAYS MOANING ABOUT IT!!!!

Right on a more positive note........... I'm away to Barcelona on the 15th with Alan until the 18th. Lorna is staying with my parents so we can try and sort ourselves out. Please everyone keep your fingers crossed that we come back home together and I don't end up in a Spanish jail accused of murder!!!

    Re: Oct/Nov Mums 2004

Well i've finally just had the time to sit and read ALL of this thread and LORD you girls can't arf GAS

My head is spinning with all the posts and tbh i'm all confused about what i've read.

So lets see, whats been happening with us...

Lucy is REALLY growing up, she is talking LOADS now saying tonns of words and seems to pick up new ones every day. She is a real chatterbox and has conversations with the cat. She still talks gibberish most of the time tbh but i can pick out odd words in her "sentances"

She is a REAL madam atm too, i think she could possibly be crowned QUEEN OF THE TANTRUMS as she is terrible. Can be for any reason no matter how big or small, she throws herself on the floor, usually does the splits too, and starts kicking and screaming. Luckily she hasn't done it whilst i've been out in public much but she has done it in front of friends and family so at least now they KNOW i'm not making it up, everyone thinks she is a complete ANGEL child but us Mummies know different eh!

Her eating is still pretty much touch and go, some days she eats loads, others nothing so i guess it balances out. Last time i took her to be weighed she was 20lb 13oz which isn't much considering in October she was 20lb 3oz but i'm not overly concerned about that. She has grown upwards loads and although she has chubby legs still and a little fatty bumbum she looks a lot slimmer now. She is still in 9-12 month clothes and her 12-18 stuff is practically hanging off her, depending where its from as she's gone all skinney up top. She could do with some new shoes, but last time she was measured she was still a size 4 in Clarks, as she was in February so i'm keeping her in her little mothercare maryjanes for now or her jellys/sandals if its warm. I've spent this afternoon going through her wardrobe as it needed a real sort out. She's tonns of clothes that she's outgrown so i've sorted out stuff for the charity shop and the rest has gone in the loft (in case i have another pink one one day!) I've also packed all her larger size clothes away in a storage bag under her bed for this autum/winter although if she carried on growing (or not growing) at this rate it'll all be too big for her because its all 18-24 months

We've been slacking going to baby groups later, mainly because i never know when she's going to nap and it makes it awkward, also she's been getting up at 4:30am so by 9:30am i'm shattered already and i can't face a church hall full of screaming toddlers. Hopefully i'll start up again next week, we normally have soft play at the leisure centre on Monday morning 9:30-10:45am, Local Mother and Toddler Group on a Wednesday morning 9:30-11am and then a Church Mother and Toddler Group on Thursday morning 9:30-11am. I meet up with my Mum and Sister once a week too so thats good for her because my Sisters daughter is 9 months.

Lu's fave toys atm are her books still (have a right little book worm here) and her dolly and pram which i'm really pleased about because i LOVED my dolly's when i was a wee girl She spends ages taking the nappy on and off and also uses her wipes to clean her dolly's bum which is just TOO CUTE

Right i think i've babbled on enough here things between me and DH are ok for the time being, we had our 3rd counselling session on Monday and it all went well. We're given some more "exercises" to practice this week so we've done one of them this evening. They basically involve some roleplay/structured conversations if that makes sense. Basically we get given a list of subjects to discuss (mainly about areas of our realtionship) and have to report back the next week. We're actually really enjoying doing them as its forcing us to spend more time together, which can only be a GOOD thing.

Whilst i think back over the last few pages...

Congrats CB on your Wedding, you looked gorgeous as did Emma and i'm so pleased that your Special Day went well.

Jane, Lorna's pics on the Damsels Mum's Photo's are really lovely, you have a very pretty little girl there.

LJJ, can't believe you're married now, can't wait for you to get back so i can have a nosey at your pics and here how it all went.

Andie, congrats on the birth of Kane, i'm so sorry he's been so poorley, but i hear he is recovering well. Hope he's better soon and hope to see you back on here again shortly.

Spritzer at your speed of lightning BFP, i'm extremely jelous but also very pleased for you, Xander is going to make a wonderful Big Brother

Cab, not seen you around much lately, i'm sure you must be very busy with Tom and Alex, hope you're all well.

    Oh and Hello FlipFlop

    Sorry if i've missed anyone.
