ok, so I've been away a while, but...
.......is everybody posting here now instead of HB? It seems like there's been about 5 threads there in the two and a half weeks I've been away

just wanted to check the lay of the land ;-)
And have I missed anything?! Gossip, babies, bfp's etc.

ps we had an amazing holiday and very sad to come home :( Plus after about 36 hours travelling, I'm feeling very light headed, like I've been on a boat for a few days. the ground won't stay still

SS! How are you honey? Glad you had a good holiday. Where did you go?
Yup anyone who is anyone is over here now
I didn't consciously stop posting over there- it just sort of happened. Beofre I knew it I wasn't checking over there anymore. I don't think I've been over for about 4 days
I will probably make a concerted effort oce they move the boards- but for the moment it is like rats deserting a sinking ship...oops sorry for the analogy. How are your sea legs now?!

Re: ok, so I've been away a while, but...
we were in Australia and NZ on holidays.....went to Aus first and spent a week and a half on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland (just north of Brisbane) We stayed with MIL and had such a relaxing time, sunbathing, going to the beach, eating the most amazing food and drinking a LOT of wine
MIL and her partner got married while we were there (Dylan was the ring bearer, SO cute
) so that was a lovely day. And it was the first time MIL had seen Dylan since he was a couple of weeks old, and he met loads of his family for the first time aswell.
The journey over was great, we flew with Singapore Airlines and were totally blown away with the service......they could not have done anything more for us. We had a bassinet which was great, it was quite big so he was able to sit in it and play / read his books / colour etc. And he slept loads in it on the way over. We were really surprised by him being around so many new people in Australia aswell....usually he would cry if someone he didn't know even touched him, but it was like he knew they were family, and he settled in instantly. No jet lag either which was a HUGE bonus......after the first night he was in his normal sleeping pattern.
It was with much sadness that we left there (on my part anyway, I would have stayed for good
) and went to Auckland where DH is from. A couple of our best friends were getting married and Dh was best man, so we had a fantastic time catching up with friends we hadn't seen for over 4 years, and eating a drinking a whole lot more. The wedding was amazing and I cried like a baby nearly the whole way through
It was really hard saying goodbye to everyone when we left, DH was really upset, knowing he's not going to see his friends for a couple of years probably, and it was horrible seeing him like that.
Journey home wasn't great........new zealand just seems SO much further away than Australia and it took about 12 hours more to get home than it did to get to Aus. Dylan was a little more difficult than he had been on the way over, but still nowhere near as bad as I expected him to be.
Dylan seems to have changed so much in the past couple of weeks - he grew a couple of inches I'm sure, and we've noticed how tall he seems in relation to our furniture
He's so much more relaxed with people and his speech has come on so much.
I'm already hoping we can go back next year, to Australia anyway. I've come home with so many ideas for our house and garden......they have a really particular style over there when it comes to interiors, which I loved. Its quite different to here.
god, sorry for the huge waffle
I'll post some pics when I get a chance
