Sandals without socks
H wasn't walking last year so I didn't have this problem but I desperately need to get her some sandals for her holiday next week.
But I am really worried about which sort to get for her to wear without socks, as I'm concerned about her getting blisters.
Am I mad in thinking this??
Can anyone recommend any?
I did get her some lovely little beach sandal things from Gap which had velcro fastenings but she just sat on the floor when I put them on her at the weekend and took them off - undid the velcro and said NO shoes, and refused to wear them
So ones without velcro I guess!!!!
They do have some little cork soled two bar leather ones in Next that I was thinking of going and ordering today (they have buckles rather than velcro)
Thanks for any help (and can I just confirm that they DO wear the sandals without socks, don't they??!!
)

Re: Sandals without socks
We used doodles without socks last year with no probs (if they get a bit whiffy they can be washed). Because they have buckles they find it harder to take them off ;-)
I also had some LOVELY sandals from an independent shoe shop which were velcro and again, he wore those without socks - well he HAD to they were open toed and there's NO WAY he could commit the "socks and sandals" crime against humanity
the Next ones sound lovely but I know that Birkenstock won't let you buy their sandals for under 3s as they say the cork base isn't forgiving enough for their developing arches/feet..... Also, I always get blisters in new sandals....
Not been much help have I!

Oh dear - we have been known to commit the sandals and socks crime - I though little uns could get away with it but perhaps I am mistaken?

Re: Sandals without socks
Not always - but certainly more often than not! (I think it looks quite cute!!!) I couldn't bear for her to get blisters.

Re: Sandals without socks
Sorry - meant to say thanks shamu!! !(and interesting about birkenstocks, although they definitely sell smaller birkies than for 3 years olds - they have them in One Small step
)
I was thinking about the corkbed ones on this page:
http://order.next.co.uk/page.asp?b=G30&p=344&o=1
Or would the little canvas boots or little lace up canvas shoes at the top of the page be better????
Can anyone recommend where else to get them from?
I can only get to highstreet shops (ie Mothercare, Gap, Next rather than Woolies or any supermarkets )
I've had these flaming Gap ones for ages thinking they'd be perfect but she won't have a bar of them

Re: Sandals without socks
i've been thinking about this too as i've just bought these little cuties for ruby

and was wondering if they are going to rub her feet if she goes sock-less.
but the thought of her wearing socks with them makes me shudder

!!!
we'll be buying doodles again this year - love that you can just bung them in the wash.
