Emma's favourites atm are her babies! She has 2dolls (£1.97 & £3) & a buggy (£3.50) from Tesco's and she loves them: it is so cute to watch her play with them, she cuddles them, gives them a drink, dummy or food (complete with supercute sound effect), wipes them with a baby wipe and at the park gets them out of her pushchair and puts them on the swing! sorry I have waffled.
    Shapesorter?
    Crayons, colouring book.

I knew I would forget something! Thanks CB- She has a doll- £2.95 from Wilkos She is not remotely bothered with it though

She has a shape sorter in the bath but maybe I should get one of those nice wooden ones. She does like the old Mothercare Postbox at her Grandmas! Thanks for that one ;-)

Pops- I was wondering about a kitchen but thought she might be a bit young yet. She is startig to roleplay a little with the food though. Maybe I should wait until she is 2 for that one though. When did Claire get hers?

Maybe she is fine with what she has- maybe I just have more space to fill now!

I was thinking about a little tikes type house because she loved it at a friends last week. They all seem a bit spensive though at £100+

The kitchen set is only a plastic box with plates, cutlery, pans..etc. We got it last August so Claire was around 18 months. (Although it says not under 3's..). She loved it from day 1. Her Auntie got her a toy microwave with plastic food for her birthday and I got a kettle with cups for her too. Haven't the room for an actual cooker..etc but know Claire would love one!

You can get a cheaper playhouse at Argos (around £50 I think) which I have read good reviews about on a thread in a different forum...

Leah likes her blackboard and chalk, sticker dictionary books, playdough, crayons (anything crafty in fact!) Also her teaset.

Now, how about a pile of DVD's, access to the video, remote controls or high things? they are the BEST toys!

Re: Toddler Toy Inventory- what am I missing?

What about some Fisherprice Little People, Lucy had some for her birthday and again more for Xmas but she has only this week taken an interest in them. She makes them walk and talk and everything, its so funny to watch. Lucy has the Noah's ark and a playground scene but i saw this http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...er/3479425.htm one reduced in Woolies and was tempted to get it too, ELC do there own version i think its called Happy Land or something.

You mentioned a playhouse, were you referring to one for outside or indoors. Lucy has this http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...%2Bcentres.htm one from Argos, but i'm going to have it up in the garden, not enough space indoors here unfortunately. Its a real steal at £50. Our friends bought Lucy's for Xmas and she got a FREE trike with it too

Another toy Lucy really likes atm is her tea pot, our friends bought it her for Easter, its a huge teapot with a little kettle inside, a teapot, cups, saucers, plates etc etc and a little plastic cake and she loves it.

    Alright alright you 'orrible lot!

Maybe it looks more in list fomat than in the home- considering I lives in a Palace & all

I might leave the house until we fence off a bit of the beer garden for her (God that sounds terrible doesn't it? It is a seperate part of the garden, honest- she won't be playing with fag butts & beer dregs )

The Tea Set is a good idea as is an easel. We haven't really done crafty things at home yet- I know it will e opening the floodgates when I do! ATM it stays at playgroup ;-)

Re: Toddler Toy Inventory- what am I missing?

At the moment Hettie loves playing with her:

Buggy (£3.99 from Wilkinson - couldn't really give a chuff about the baby apart from she gets all cross when I try and get the baby dressed - she prefers her naked )

Shapesorter (only started becoming obsessed with this in the last month or so) We do have a very classy wooden one and another lovely plastic one (v nice and chunky honestly!) but she doesn't give a stuff about them - it's the V Tech Rocket shape sorter that she just adores (and will play with for ages!!!)

Blackboard and chalks -- they do have a fab cheap easel in Ikea but it's too tall for them at the mo.

Cbeebies magazine (teletubbies is the fave - not bothered by books but I bought her 2 mags at the beginning of the month and she loves them. Has taken all the pages apart but will sit and look at one page and then another page for ages and ages)

Tweenies puzzle - has lots of puzzles (the board ones with little pegs on each piece if that makes sense ) but on ly likes the Tweenies one

She would love us forever if we got her a BEEP BEEP (little trikes bubble car) but I refuse to spend £40 on a new one which will get trashed in the garden after one rainfall. So my mum is looking out for one at the car boot sales - I figure it's GOT to be the sort of thing that you can get really easily.

Not remotely bothered by megablocks, peekablocks, books (unless they play music and she then loves them), Little people, cuddly toys, building blocks etc etc.

    Strange child.

    Hope that helps!!!

I positively couldn't cope without these now! Leah refuses to even look at "toy" toys any more (shapesorters, musical things, etc etc) and just wants to

    a) do the dishes in the sink
    b) water the flowers in the garden or potter about outside
    c) draw/sticker/paint/make a general mess!!!! If you are going to start with the crafty things, stickers and crayons are less messy than playdough and painting - she only does THOSE in her high chair!!!

Re: Toddler Toy Inventory- what am I missing?

a fairy princess doll's house and an x box. OBviously :wik:

hmm, splashy is mostly playing on his bed with dogdog these days, but when he's not, crayons are a favourite, plus bubbles. but he spends aaaages putting things in pullalong trucks and pulling them around the house, riding on a plastic thing, and playing with his mega blocks.

i think kitchens are good at any age, splashy loved the one in the babies room at nursery and he was there from 6-12 months - i think it was the doors that mainly attracted him...

    oh, and books of course.

we haven't had anything new since his birthday really and i was just starting to think maybe he should have some more problem solving toys? although he rarely seems bored. he loves chasing and singing and reading as well.

sersha, sounds like you have a little creative bunny there, you must have loads of fun with her, bless! :)

    Snorted tea out my nose!!

Don't forget paddling pool and any sort of cups beakers and buckets for the summer. My 2 used to play for hours with water, even if paddling pool was broken, they would just sit in washing up bowls and buckets of water. All the tea sets and kitchen utensils really came into their own then.

J is a typical little boy and can spend a long time just rolling his Bob the Builder Toys from one end of the living room to the other...
He also loves books, a Barney driving thingummy and Fifi!
