Canoe accident in Scotland
my heart is breaking for the families involved 
That poor, poor woman who has lost her 2 children and her husband is still missing

So sad, however, you've got to wonder about the ****wittery going on that folk think it is okay to take kids out on open water with wobbly canoes with only buoyancy aids and not proper life jackets.
The poor, poor mother of those kids.

I grew up there and it is a terrible tragedy. That stretch of water does look deceptive though and I can understand why they went out.
Apparently the wee girl was found face down in the water despite wearing a buoyancing aid. It wasn't enough to keep her head out of the water. I'm amazed the older girl had the strength and presence of mind to swim back to shore with her father.
I really hope they find the father's body quickly for the family's sake. Local people are out helping in the search.
