Where is the best place you have been on holiday ?

I've not been to either but if you only want 5 hours what about Sicily or Santorini. A mum from school went with her DH just before the kids broke up from school to Santorini for a naughty weekend. She said it was perfect because there was no sightseeing to be done which forced them to relax for a few days.

If you're willing to go further afield I would definitely second Mrs B's Vietnam recommendation. It's such a wonderful country.

Kenya is a bit far but The Gambia is probably close enough.

I'd agree with bluekat and say latchi in Cyprus, I lived near Limassol for 3 years and it was my favourite place on the island. Other than that santorini. It was just beautiful.

What about somewhere like South Africa or Kenya? thats probably just about within 5 hours flying time

Minimum 8hrs to Kenya I think and more like 11-12 to Johannesburg unfortunately

If DH & I were in the same position we'd be in the south of France like a shot.
