Thanks all - votes so far for 2 I think. 1 is a charger plate (whatever that is...) but it could work I guess. 3 - definitely harder to clean, it's tiny silver beads sewn together. The beads are glass so I suppose I could 'pick' food out more easily when it spills. Oh lord. The dilemma is pathetic.

I think I like 3 the best but 2 would definitely be way easier to clean.

I'd ordinarily prefer rectangular too but my table is round so round seems to suit better - in my head anyway!

I vote 2 although I have rectangular placemats on a round table so am probably not one to talk!

I like the simplicity of 2 and they look nice quality.

I used the 1st ones for our Christmas table - they do look nice but I don't think they'd stand up to everyday use. I had to wash them carefully by hand.
