Totally agree .. I was completely drained after it! In fact I had to get bits n bobs done during the match, which I was happy to do as I just found it sooo tense.
He acquitted himself really well, and I hope some of the doubters will give him a break now, he truly is world standard. He many be overly dour, but maybe that's what it takes to keep him in the zone.

D and I were there

Had ground passes, so watched on the big screens inside the grounds.

Was SUCH an amazing atmosphere, and so very, very tense. I couldn't look in the end - poor D was watching through his fingers at one point!

had to dash back to relieve babysitters though so didn't get to watch his speech at the end so just watched that on You Tube

Poor Andy. I think he really believed it was his fate to win it this year. It seemed like it should be but Federer obviously didn't buy into that!

I've always liked him. I think the press have targeted him (as they often do) and given him a really hard time due to one or two silly things/jokes he has made in the past. He clearly doesn't have a lot of time for them so they make sure they portray him in a certain way.
Glad to see the emotion from him as maybe people will see beyond the image now.
