Like you I am a little worried about W being such a young one in the year, last week i tried a pair of school trousers on him and it just looked wrong, I am very sad that I am losing my baby.
But we didn't do many groups as where I am there aren't many really and his nursery class is not only in the same school he is going to but the nursery classroom and reception class are joined and the two year groups mix an mingle at certain times of the day, so for both him and me the only difference will be the uniform and extended hours.
I guess I will be kept very busy at work once he starts school so I am hoping tat I won't have too much time to think about it.

Re: Big transitions in their lives - how do YOU cope?
It's normal. It does get easier, and TBH for me it got easier when I realised not only had I had my last baby but I actually wanted them to grow up IYSWIM.
Big kids , nearly grown up kids, and even teens are just so exiting to know. Yup them falling asleep on my lap is something I miss, but I see babies at work and a friends toddler (you know who you are!) and lovely as it is I can really remember the down sides as well as the lovely bits too and after the odd pang of sadness that I don't have a small of my own I can see the benefits!

lots of the other mums talk about how they can't wait for their LO to start full time but I just want her for another year.
This was the same as Serena, people used to say to me "oh what a shame she missed out on this year" but I was pleased to have her at home for that extra time. I would have been distraught if she had gone a year earlier!
