JubJub, my nephew can join James in the Biff etc fanclub as he loves them too.

We have also banned Horrid Henry. He is an annoying little sod who never seems to learn his lesson.

Esther was given a whole set of Horrid Henry for her birthday thankfully she can read them to herself so I don't have to put up with him. It is funny though she is definitely on Perfect Peters side

Re: What books are your children into atm?

DS1 doesn't like Horrid Henry either, he thinks he's annoying and stupid rather than funny. We're reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the moment, and George's Marvellous Medicine is his favourite Roald Dahl so far.
Was thinking of trying him with Mr Gum, but perhaps this is too old for him at the moment.

the Artemis Fowl series is great, and DS1 liked the Charlie Bone series when he was younger.

DS2 really likes Clarice Bean books, and we read a chapter or 2 a night. He mainly still likes story/picture books that we can finish in one sitting.
