Re: Moussaka... T&T recipe?
I cut out the ingredients list from an M&S ready made moussaka OH had picked up and use that as my guide though, so the Hairy Bikers recipe isn't T&T - it's probably the closest to what I do in terms of ingredients though.

Here's what I do differently
I add a vegetable stock cube to the meat once it's browned and I don't use cinnamon or add any salt or flour to the meat mix.
I slice (about 1cm thick) rather than dice the aubergines, and don't use anywhere near that amount of oil to fry them! I either use a couple of sprays of oil, or just dry fry them in a non-stick pan (had a bad experience with over-oiled aubergine slices once...
).
Lastly, I usually add a pinch of white or black pepper to the white sauce (but I am a pepper fiend
) and use grated cheddar if we don't have any parmesan in. Tastes just as lovely!
Hope that helps - sorry I waffle on a bit!

Thank you!
For some reason I always thought moussaka was meat free?!!?

Re: Moussaka... T&T recipe?
I guess you could make it meat free
I've seen lots of recipes using lentils instead of meat - not really my thing but I'm sure it'd be tasty
