Re: How do you get your young children up in the mornings?

Mine are usually up by 7am. Matthew usually knocks on our door, checks that it is 'morning' and then goes downstairs to watch TV. Emma shouts at me from her cot until I get her up.

If they are not awake, we wake them at 7 (after we are showered / dressed) by opening the curtains and are out of the house by 8.15

Re: How do you get your young children up in the mornings?

Mine seem to need unbelievable amounts of sleep, so unfortunately I have to wake them on almost every school day. I get up and breakfasted and have theirs all ready before getting them up. I feel rubbish about it, but it has to be done.
They go to bed about 7.30, lights out be 8am and the latest they can be up is 8am.
At weekends they might go to bed slightly later, but can lie in as long as they want ... the longer the better

I leave for work at 7.30, they're all still asleep. DH wakes them at about 7.45-8. Bedtimes 7.30.
Weekends vary! Dd1 was up late on Friday night (9) so we woke her at 10, at 11 I found her back in her bed. The swimming lesson is 9am so I get them up at 8 for that

Re: How do you get your young children up in the mornings?

Evie would quite happily sleep past 9am if I let her, and often does on weekends. I always have to wake her up on school mornings, normally I go in and turn on her lights and open the curtains, then go and shower, so by the time I'm out of the shower she's starting to come too. She's a really heavy sleeper, it takes her ages

I have to leave the house at 8:25, and my mum walks up to ours to take her to school, but I prefer Evie to be ready when she arrives so that they can do some reading. I wake her between 7:30-7:45.
