    Double-sided sticky tape works quite well to deter them from walking across carpets. Just mind you don't catch any small children too .

    Thanks for all the tips. Well, I've not seen any this morning, so I'm hoping that the ones I have seen in recent days were the last few of the original party that got in before i got the ant powder out.

    Thanks, I bought Eraza traps from Wilkinsons today. They were on offer at £2. *touchwood* We don't have a huge infestation but there is always an ant or two in our dining room. It is open plan into the kitchen so I want to stop them going any further.
