Re: No/low carbing for a carbaholic

You might be better doing what I'm doing which is a relatively low carb diet combined with calorie-counting. Basically I have a 'wheat-free' breakfast - usually oat granola with berries and low-fat probiotic yogurt, or porridge, or scrambled eggs with bacon / smoked salmon at weekends. Then I have salad for lunch with a big portion of protein, and more protein for dinner with lots of veg. I am eating the occasional small portion of potatoes but avoiding bread / pasta / rice / couscous.
I do feel less bloated but it is not restrictive like something like Dukan / P2T as I can eat a sandwich / piece of cake as long as I count the calories. I am finding that it controls the urge to binge though which makes a big difference as I am not getting the 'empty' feeling I get when I eat loads of carbs.Jedi Boy is 6, the Little Princess is 3....

Another doing pretty much what BB and Holly are.
I started cutting down (but not out) on carbs, so i have eggs, porridge, yoghurt for bfast, Jacket potato and salad for lunch or a panini with salad and then a dinner at night with no carbs (by carbs i mean bread, potato, pasta) i pile on the veg so i probably have peas, carrots, cauli, broccoli and baby corn. I lost over half a stone in around 3 weeks then went on holiday and put a couple of lbs back on which i've now lost again in 10 days being back on the cut down. I also cut down from 2 sugars in tea etc to 1, stopped putting sugar on cereal and porridge, switched from full fat coke to diet coke and i started horse riding again to help tone up.Callum (2008)
