Conjuncitivitis (Me) and it really hurts!

get some eye drops lass...
in the meantime clean it with cotton wool and luke warm water (can hurt if its cold)... wipe from the inside to outside of the eye gently xx

Quick update - I got drops and used them all week but it was just getting worse and worse

and then my ear on that side started hurting and the lymph nodes around my ear came up too. My throat also hurt on that side.

So I went to the walk in centre who referred me to the eye clinic. The Dr said that I am (can't remember the word

) resistant/immune to/tolerant of Chloramphenicol and in fact slightly allergic to it which made my eye worse. As a result the infection has spread to my ear and also to my throat to a lesser degree.

Anyway, I now have a combo of Fusidic Acid for my eye and co-amoxiclav for the systemic infection and after just 2 days my eye is so so much better

My ear is still painful but I have 5 days of antibiotics left.

OMG that sounds horrendous. You need some TLC and a rest by the sound of it. Are you feeling generally run down?

My eye feels totally normal now although it's still quite pink, at least it's not bright red anymore. It's still a bit crusty but I can live with that. I can't believe the difference a different antibiotic has made. Hopefully it'll kick the ear infection & sore throat soon too

Mrs Moss, I think I am a bit run down. It feels like I haven't been 100% for ages. I got up at about 9am on Saturday then went back to bed at 12.15 and slept until after 5!

I think I need to put some effort into my sleeping & eating habits and maybe take a multivitamin.

aaargh! Turns out I'm allergic to co-amoxyclav and have been covered in hideous itchy welts so I'm also taking an anti-histamine, have new anti-biotics form the Dr and also have a nasty cough. Oh and I put my hip out the other day so can only hobble.

Oh and Oren has chicken pox!
