    Low Iron

I went to give blood this evening. My iron level was 116 which I was told is normal but donating would make it too low. You have to have a reading of 125 or more.

I know you should avoid tea as it can effect your absorption of iron. Am I right in thinking that this is just 'normal' tea? I drink a lot of decaf green tea but presume that is ok, is it?

Wondering if I should get some veggie vitamin supplements or some Spatone/Iron tablets.

    Re: Low Iron

I thought green tea affected iron absorption as much as regular tea, but I can't remember my source.

Just had a quick Google. I've found pages that says it does and other say it doesn't.

I drink loads of it. Some sites suggest not to drink it an hour before/after meals as a precaution.
