If you could go back in time...

and start your life again at any point you choose, would you? it would mean that there was no guarantee you would still meet your partner or have the children you have, and you would be aware of this.

    Would you do it?

I pondered this recently and decided no, I couldn't live my life again knowing my 3 children would not exist.

No, but I would seriously consider a different career if I had the chance.

No I couldn't do it based on the fact I wouldn't have met dh!

But if there was a guarantee I'd meet him anyway I would go back to my 14 year old self, stop the self loathing, wanting to grow up too soon, wearing bad clothes and make up, having no self esteem and thinking I didn't need to listen at school as I would scrape through.
i guess that would describe most teenage girls though. I have fond memories of my teenage years but my self esteem and confidence as a woman in my 30's is way higher than ever before - again I guess that's quite normal for a woman in her 30's though??

could i go back to a time i'd just met DH? 1997 at University - what a fab couple of years! I'd do it all again in a heartbeat.

I could change my career and would be much better off financially (as I'd make better decisions) and I'd still have him and my lovely boys!

    Exactly WSS

I wouldn't change DH or the kids but I would hope I'd make better decisions next time round and actually have a career.

I'd go back to when I first met DH at 16, and instead of moving in with him after 3 weeks () I'd finish my A Levels, go to university, get a bloody good job and jump on the property ladder before all the house prices shot up. We'd be in a much better position financially now if I'd done that. I would have travelled too, and possibly lived in New York for a while which was also a dream of mine.

I would go back 10 years to when OH was trying to decide wether to start his own business and persuade him not to do it. Worse decision ever. We would still have had our children etc just with more money, job security and lots less stress.

With no guarantee of having my DH or children then no way. But I'd love to go back in time to correct past mistakes/do things differently.

But then, I often think, without those mistakes I probably wouldn't be where I am today!

Re: If you could go back in time...

If I could go back in time, I would say that I wish we'd not bought a second property in 2009 as it has caused so much stress and hassle BUT because Olive was conceived there, then I can't say it, she's a little treasure and I could not imagine having any other daughter.

Also sometimes, I wondered what would have happened if I'd travelled the world after Uni and become some sort of aid worker in the third world (honestly, its my 'other' life I didn't follow!!) but again I couldn't wish DH and the children away. And knowing my luck, I'd be held in captivity by terrorists if I had done that

A hard question to answer KK, but one I ponder on all the time, having made mistakes in the last three years in particular

I would go back if I could still have my kids, but the jury's still out on DH, tbh. I've spent a lot of time recently thinking that my marriage was probably one of the worst things I've done - love the kids and wouldn't change them for the world, even with all their problems, though
