Feeling drained NAR
Just need to release a bit, as I'm having a tough week and struggling to keep it all together.
1. My kids' exams and their stress. Not directly my stress and I don't need to let it overburden me, but I can't help take it on to some extent.
2. Meetings and trainings every evening for various things and DH also having meetings and commitments. This has caused us logistical nightmares.
3. Yesterday I had a job interview. When I popped in for 10 mins today between work, collecting DS2 from the childminder and going to training, I found a message on the answerphone telling me I didn't get the job. Not a huge disaster, but rejection is never nice.
4. A bloody annoying cold developing which is making me struggle to stay awake, let alone getting the 101 things on my to-do list done.
5. Plumber repeatedly not turning up to fix the shower leak when he's said he will. The shower leak is now becoming a hall shower. I suppose I can just walk through the hall to get clean, at least it might save me a few minutes.
6. Tax office still not sorting out my tax properly, so I have paid several hundred pounds too much tax, even though my pay is under £700 a month.
I know it's not Friday, but if I can chuck all of those on the bonfire and start from scratch that would be nice.

Re: Feeling drained NAR
Hope you get to relax a little at the weekend. Sounds like you need a bit of time to put your feet up and chill a bit if you can. xxx

Re: Feeling drained NAR
Thanks, everyone.
I'm feeling a bit better today. I had today booked off work to go and fetch DS1 from Uni. I had 2+ hours in the car on my own on the way there, which gave me a bit of much needed space. I then had the same amount of time on the way back catching up with DS1. It's really lovely to see him.
Also, I had an email inviting me to a job interview for a job that I'm much more interested in than the one I didn't get this week, so
It's the weekend. We're off to legoland tomorrow and I'm doing nothing on Sunday.
Next week should be much less exhausting, so I feel like I can get back on top of things a bit. Oh, and my cold seems to be clearing up, too.
Still don't have the shower fixed, yet.

Good news about the new job opportunity, one door closes another opens. Glad you are feeling brighter. Phone plumber and tell you will send your kids round to sing christmas songs to him at 6am every morning until he comes and fixes your shower. Might just work.

Re: Feeling drained NAR
I was going to just call a different plumber on Monday, Anne, but I might try your idea first- it sounds more fun.
I've known the plumber for years and he's a nice bloke, just so inefficient it's unbelievable.

Adelee
Well, a plumber (not the original one) came out today, and is hopefully coming back to do the work on Friday.
