I like Katie. Sophies are a ten a penny around here but I've only come across one Katie/Katy. (and hers is short for Katherine but nobody ever ever calls her that)

They were both on our list but around here people wouldn't pronounce Katie properly which put me off.
    Both are pretty names imo.

Both Katie and Sophie were popular here, DSs year is full of Katies and Sophies.

I like them both, but I do associate them with being "little girl" names (perhaps because I only know one adult Sophie and no Katies). I'd go for Kate/Katherine or Sophia but that's just me. They both go well with your DSs name though.

From those two names I'd go with Sophie, because I think it 'ages' better. A bit like *kate* said, Katie is a 'little girl' name to me.

I'll second Rebecca though! My R was going to be Rebecca Louise, but we changed our minds at the last minute about the middle name!

I know loads of adult Katies and Sophies, more katies as i think it's quite popular in Scotland.

How would they pronounce it? I can't think how else you'd say it!

You could call her Kate / Katherine and use Katie as her name - although tbh, my parents called me Kathryn as 'it would look better on my birth certificate and give me a choice when I grew up' and I have been anything but Kate.

As RGK will testify, I cant even find my name on a list when it says Kathryn (and I had a very unusual surname at the time)

Rather than saying kay-tee the 't' gets lost somewhere, like when people don't say 'water' properly.
