Re: Q about pubes, midwives and c-sections
They don't always shave you for a section

I had an emergency with my first and an elective with my second, I wasn't shaved either time, much to my huge relief. I suspect it depends on your hospital's policy, so before giving yourself a stubble rash it might be worth asking your m/w.

Re: Q about pubes, midwives and c-sections
I didn't have a c-section but I did totally maintain my regular defuzzing thoughout the whole of my pregnancy - tbh I am so used to shaving i didn't actually need to look whilst i did it and there was no problem....I'd have felt very uncomfortable going for my midwife appointments without being shaved and having things "neat".

Yes the dry shave is true - this is what worried me the most, I certainly couldn't have done anything with a razor myself so I used spray very hair removal which removed virtually everything (well as far as I could see lol!) not sure how unsightly it was but both times I didn't have to have the dreaded dry shave!

Re: Q about pubes, midwives and c-sections
I booked myself in for a bikini wax both times leading up to the birth as i wanted to look tidy down there.
First time I also painted my toenails.
The first time I had an emergency section and they shaved a bit more from the top.
The second time I was having a planned section and had a wax three days before going in to hospital. The therapist used molton lava to wax me so instead of having the tidy area I wanted I looked like I had been scalded. What a GOOD look.
Actually I don't think it was necessarily the therapists fault my skin was probably just super sensitive as I was pregnant.

Re: Q about pubes, midwives and c-sections
I remember being advised that waxing isn't recommended when pg...a but like it isn't when your period is due as the skin is more sensitive.
i had my eyebrows threaded when I didn't know I was pg and OMG it hurt, my eyes watered so badly!
