For all those who have seen the olympic torch passing

was it punctual??

it is supposed to reach our town at 3.05 this afternoon. DS1 has an exam finishing at 2.45 at the school 10 mins drive away. All roads are blocked but i kind of had a back road route I have planned but its going to be cutting it very very fine!!

I think it was a few minutes late when it got to us.

It was 10-15 minutes late here - but in my friends town it left 15 minutes early and lots of people missed it!

It was early when it came to us, by about 10-15 minutes.

You can watch it online, on the BBC website, is there anyone who could ring you near the time and you could see how near it is to where you are going to be?

I made it by the skin of my teeth (and thank god all the police were in town as I may have gone slightly over the speed limit

Phew! I'm glad it was worth it too. What on earth is a coca cola dancing girl?! I'm really looking forward to it passing near us, but we've got a few weeks to go yet. I'm such an Olympics junkie!

Me too! We saw it in Preston at 810 this am. Had to get up at 615 to get there, park and get a place at the front

but it was worth it! We were right in the centre of town so there wa a big stage with music and dancing too.

Its going past our very own front door on Tuesday!
However, on the website it says its in a convoy, which apparently means the torch isnt on display and its in a car.. Anyone got any idea of what to expect for that? Whats the point in even advertising the fact if its just being taxiied from one place to the next?

Chardonnay I have no idea. When it passed us there was all sorts of things with it including coca cola wagon, samsung wagon, police and various olymic cars and buses
