Re: Wht age to get a girl's ears pierced?
Most pools say "no jewellery" and although adults will wear studs into the pool, swimming with school is another matter. And she might start a new class or something or you might move to a different one maybe?
I was 13 and my mum made me wait till then because she didn't like the look of pierced ears full stop. I personally don't like the look on tiny girls (especially not preschool age) and I don't really see the point in primary aged girls, though they don't look as bad.
However my mum had refused for ages and thought they looked so bad and THEN (but we did all laugh about it) after I had them done she looked at other people wearing them and at the earrings in the shops and had hers done within a month!
My SIL was thinking of getting my nieces' ears pierced at about 6 months (again, cultural) and my brother said no mainly because I think he wanted them to have the choice. I think the older girl has them done now, her choice (she's 8) but it may have been pushed by most of the girls in her class having them done, so not her own thought really.

Re: Wht age to get a girl's ears pierced?
I had my ears done at 5.5. They got really badly infected. I can only wear expensive earrings

DD1 has been asking but I've told her she can have hers done in the summer holidays between P7 and S1.
Claire's Accessories have a brilliant selection of clip ons and DD1 has loads of pairs...they'll keep her going for just now.
