Bulk Cooking
Hi All
I am trying to get organised (well we can all wish).
I am thinking of doing some bulk cooking at the weekend.
Has anyone got t&t recipes that wont take too long to do and can be frozen please.
TIA

Re: Bulk Cooking
I tend to do the same as Miss Frosty, with the addition of curry (any type, without any cream/yogurt etc).
Not so quick to prepare, but I tend to do up a load of meatballs whenever I make them which saves time in the long run. They take barely any time to defrost, and if you portion them up and freeze them in a ragu sauce (or whatever sauce you want) then they're a super quick and easy dinner
Also, I made a load (and I mean, a ridiculous amount) of ratatouille and ended up freezing around 8 portions of it, and it's great for a side dish or as a base for sauces. Luckily

Re: Bulk Cooking
Melusine 8- 10 portions is a normal "cook up" of anything for me LOL . i tend to cook on sunday for the week for 4 of us- a big put of curry/chilli/pasta sauce and the same of soup etc and that does 4 meals with a lazy 5th of pizza/beans etc

Re: Bulk Cooking
Same sort of things as everyone else, I have found meatballs quite reccently and think they are great as very versatile eg if you do lamb ones you can easily serve with cous cuos in Moroccan style and the whole thing is ready in minutes

I also do fish pie, we get by on a blend of slow cooker meals and bulk cooked food from the freezer with the odd super-quick meal like fresh pasta and sauce/ stir fryno matter how far you have travelled down the wrong road, you can always turn around.

We use the plastic containers you get from the Chinese or sometimes just freezer bags as you can get more in then! (our freezer is only small)
We don't batch cook but we freeze leftovers, bolognaise, lasagne, sausage casserole. I like to make batches of enchiladas too and freeze those. Handy to have for a quick weekend lunch and also good for work lunches
