Bedtime troubles
Feels like weeks this has been going on for I think it has been since i came back from Turkey which is 4 weeks this week
Zach was going down at 7pm & going through the night until 6.30-7am unless he was poorly with ear infection etc
He is fine. Isn't teething no conjunctivitious but he won't go to sleep
6.30-7pm he goes down & he does t go to sleep until gone 9.30pm. Been trying controlled crying its not working he just cries & cries I go up & check him but he is always fine
Completly lost our evenings again. He is up now just waking/crawling upstairs happy as larry as he has been crying for the last 1.5hrs my neighbours must hate it
Not sure why he has suddenly gone like this. He naps in the day fine

Any sign of teeth coming through? If so, you could try some calpol / nurofen half an hour before bed. With teething ime they can be ok during the day when there are lots of distractions but when things are quiet in the evening they notice the pain more.
Could it be a reaction to starting nursery? Perhaps a little separation anxiety. Could you lie in his room and say 'Shhh mummy's here' in between cries until he falls asleep? It should only take a few days until he settles again.
Thats all I can think of for the moment! Hang in there though it will pass.

Re: Bedtime troubles
Did he go to Turkey with you? It might be that he's been missing you recently and it sort of hits him when he's put to bed and left alone.
I would try to reassure him. Stay in the bedroom for a bit longer while he's relaxing and winding down, read him stories until he's starting to nod off etc.

Re: Bedtime troubles
I agree. Start with a 10 minute absense, then go back in to reassure him. Sit there for five minutes - no cuddles though, just let him know you're there - then out again for `15 minutes. Etc etc. It will take a few nights but I'm sure he'll get back into his previous routine. DD went through this at his age and it was nothing to do with an absense of ours, she was just getting more aware of life around her.
Mind you, DD was in a cot at that age so no crawling around was possible! Unless I've got that wrong, and you mean he's crawling around in his bed?
Also, have you got his room nicely darkened? Long summer evenings also prevent sleep.Call me (Mrs) Damz

Re: Bedtime troubles
Have you tried keeping his nap time early and then keeping him going through the afternoon/evening?
I'd definitely stay with him until he is sleepy, moving around must only keep him awake. Do you do stories etc?
