    [Cheaper] Alternative to Decleor Aromessence?

Has anyone tried Neals Yard facial oils or Clarins as they are a price band below?

I have tried 'cheap' facial oils and not been that impressed but any recommendations are welcome.

I've got combination skin but dehydration is more my concern.

I sampled one of the Clarins ones at Duty Free and it honked! Just too musky for me ... think it was the Blue Orchid one.

Have you looked at the Body Shop ones at all? I think they are quite nice, but maybe if you are used to pricier ones they don't quite cut the mustard.

I really rate the liz Earle facial oil, although I am not sure what price bracket it falls into.

I have a combination skin which is prone to dehydration too.

Yes I would say smell them first, I don't mind it but they're quite strong!

I got the clarins santal oil about 3 weeks ago for my birthday as I've wanted it for ages and I love it, (was almost hoping I wouldn't as its quite expensive) it will last for ages though. My problem was mega dry skin patches and my make up was looking awful sat on top of it. I'd tried all the usual dry skin creams and it wasn't touching it but this has made a huge difference to my skin. I thought I wanted the blue orchid oil but reading up on them I realised santal was better for me.

I use Liz Earle's Superskin Concentrate and love it. I also like argan oil (from Belenos Therapies).

Trilogy Rosehip oil. Read the reviews on it, it's highly rated.

I don't think any are as good as the decleor ones though, and I really didn't like the Liz Earle one.

The Trilogy rosehip one did nothing for me, either. Which is annoying, as you say it gets great reviews.

Ha ha Oana, no it's great to get different product names that I might not have even thought of before.

I still fancy Neal's Yard and Clarins (which I believe I could get a sample of from a counter (if the assistants didn't intimidate me)) but they're pricey but not as much as Decleor (which I know works for me). I suppose I'm just reluctant to spend £20+ on something that might not agree with my skin.

I'm not convinced by TBS ones as they contain 'fragrance' and I'd rather only put something on that's going to do some good.

I tried the LE in past but it's just as pricey as Decleor and I prefer Decleor. The sample sizes in LE are also very pricey per ml. If they sent me a free one I'd use it .

I tried another brand of Rosehip oil last time I bought but it just didn't do much. It was moisturising but never went that extra mile I expect from my facial oil . That's also what's putting me off the argan oil by itself as well.

I've always been a big fan of Weleda Body oils and you can use the rose and lavender on the face so I'm thinking of getting a mini set of those so if they don't agree with my face I can use them on my body instead... plus I've read that the rose smells like Lush's Fever massage bar that I love.

After lots of deliberation (and even resorting to asking DH's advice (which I ignored)) I found a sample size of the Clarins Blue Orchid on eBay so I'm going to give that a try.
