How do I get decorating inspiration?
We have decided to stop procrastinating over it and get on with decorating the house but I am having problems finding inspiration to be honest with colours for the walls.
Ive been looking at paint and think one of the issues is that I like too many colours! I am looking for something that's got some colour in it but isn't too strong as we might sell at some point and I don't want to put people off, but I really don't want a magnolia/ cream house.
The kitchen is black and white, with white walls. The living room is probably going to be repainted cream, as will our bedroom and the third bedroom. Well prob do the boy's room in a very pale blue when we get to that, so the other two left are the dining room and the hallway/ landing.
I got a few tester pots the other day and the colours look so different on the wall compared to the colour on the pot. I could buy them all but don't want to waste loads of money - or is that the best thing to do?
How did you decide on wall colours?

Re: How do I get decorating inspiration?
My bedroom was timeless, but there is no paint called timeless in my latest Dulux book. I liked it far more than a plain white and after a battle when we bought it, even DH thought it looked a bit better. I'm looking at very pale duck eggs at the moment.

Re: How do I get decorating inspiration?
I recommened a taupe or pale grey on the other thread if you're after a neutral but not a magnolia. We have Dulux Labrador Sands in most of our house and have painted new rooms pale grey. I'd like to change some of the LS to taupe/stone in the future. My sister has just painted in Muddle Puddle and it's a lovely rich neutral.

Our grey is Chalk Blush.

Re: How do I get decorating inspiration?
Timeless is really nice but we've used natural calico in our bedroom and I really like that as a lovely warm cream.
I don't think DH is that keen on greys as he wants warm colours, but I do like pale stone/taupe colours.
I'I'll try to take a pic tomorrow of my wall and post it.

Re: How do I get decorating inspiration?
Thank you Donna-j.
The funny thing is though, that I click on that link and the colour looks nothing like it did in my room. I'm really going to have to buy testers to make sure before I buy anything new.
